Many Faces of Wisdom
Wisdom in Proverbs Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)
The Value of Wisdom
Proverbs 2:12-15,20-22 New International Version (NIV)
12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, 13 who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, 14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, 15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.
20 Thus you will walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; 22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.
For Reflection
Have we lost our ability to judge the credibility of each other's words? Perhaps we have. Otherwise, how could we follow those who "delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil?"
How can we walk in the ways of the good? We can "walk in the way of good men; follow the counsels and examples of the godly; whereby he intimates that it is not sufficient to abstain from evil company and practices, but that we must choose the conversation of good men [and women]." (Proverbs 2:12)
Pray
Pray and gain the wisdom that allows you to make the righteous choice between the perversion of The Word and the acceptance of its truth.
