Many Faces of WisdomWisdom in Proverbs Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Wisdom's FeastMatthew 7:24-27 New International VersionThe Wise and Foolish Builders24 “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” For Reflection
What is the philosophy that guides your life? Is it based upon quid pro quo? Do you require a reciprocal reward for your action?
Or do you assume that your purpose in life is to live in ways that honor your creator? Do you tend to gather in or receive more than you gift? Do you hope for the welfare of your neighbor more than self-service?
If you follow the former beliefs, your world will be undercut by the smallest stream. If the latter is valued, nothing will undermine your life. You are vaccinated against the corrupting influences of this world. PrayPray so that you will be armored with the love, humility, grace, and wisdom of the living God. Forward to a friend
