Many Faces of WisdomWisdom in the Gospels Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Wisdom's VindicationMatthew 11:25-30 New International VersionThe Father Revealed in the Son25 At that time, Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. 27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” For Reflection
What was here to fore unknowable has been made knowable in Jesus Christ. To see the face of Christ is to see the face of God with impunity. To experience the Grace of Christ is to experience the Grace of God. Those who are weary of the burdens of living are invited to shed the yoke of troubling times and find peace and rest. Giving up self-determination for the will of God frees one from worry and strife. Take the heavy weight from your shoulders and cast it to the gutter. Find freedom from the pressures to embrace the sole responsibility for solving all that troubles you and let God guide you and comfort you. PrayPray and lament your troubles to the living God. Pray and confess your human limitation to resolve all that troubles you. Pray and wait for God's resolutions to appear before you. Pray and step into the vessel of God's protection and rest in the buoyancy of God's promise. Forward to a friend
