Many Faces of WisdomFaith and Wisdom in James Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Faith Without Works Is DeadDeuteronomy 6:4-9 New International Version4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. For ReflectionWhat is this love of which we speak? Is it our carnal instincts? Or perhaps the love we have for brothers and sisters?
Neither. It is agape love, the love that is self-sacrificial. It is the love that places the well being of others above one's self. It is the love that God has for us. It is that which saves us from our most narcissistic impulses. It personifies the grace of God. PrayPray and find the wisdom, will, and confidence in the love of God that resides within you and provides divine counsel. Pray and practice agape love. Forward to a friend
