Christ Includes All of Us

Call in the New Testament

The Beginning of a Call
Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)

A Regal Response to Holy Light

Galatians 3:25-29 The Message (MSG)

25-27 But now you have arrived at your destination: By faith in Christ, you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe—Christ’s life, the fulfillment of God’s original promise.

In Christ’s Family

28-29 In Christ’s family, there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us, you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are Christ’s family, then you are Abraham’s famous “descendant,” heirs according to the covenant promises.

For Reflection

The Mosaic Law is still in force.  However, with the birth of Jesus, the law's administration, the Godly practice of its principles is tempered by love and compassion.n God's people are no expanded to include all people, not just a chosen few. The change began with the destruction of the first temple by the Babylonians. Nearly 600 years later, the revolutionary change in God's relationship with humanity was reinforced and explained through the Christ event, which we celebrate as Christmas.

The Word, God, became flesh and dwelt among us. God in Jesus has released us from the bonds of corporeal living. God has graphically revealed our human potential to fulfill the will of God. Not by more restrictive laws to limit us, God preserves our freedom to choose God over self. In choosing to follow Jesus, we are freed from the burden of self-determination as the primary practicum for achieving peace, justice, and joy.  This new personal relationship with God does not absolve us from our guardian commission to be stewards of each other and the Creation.  On the contrary, choosing to be obedient to the will of God enables rather than inhibits our human potential.

Pray

Pray about all things.  Pray and understand the wisdom of God's overture for living as God has extended with joy and blessed satisfaction.
