Call in the New TestamentThe Beginning of a Call Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Called through HeritageHebrews 1:6-9 New International Version6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”[a] 7 In speaking of the angels, he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servant's flames of fire.”[b] 8 But about the Son, he says, “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”[c] For Reflection In these passages, God does not call Jesus his son or our apologist. God Calls Jesus "GOD!" Jesus was not an angel, not a minister of the Word, but the Word itself. Jesus was and is God. Jesus, whose worldly birth, life, and death we celebrate is God; seen and unseen, God; sacrificed, God; in human form, God; harbinger of peace, justice, and joy, God; revealed.
