Answer Your Persecutors

For Reflection Converts to the Way in the first century were in danger.  Declaring that Jesus is Lord did not endear them to Cesar, who claimed the same title.  The earlier followers of Jesus met in secret and, if found, were likely to be arrested.  Jesus predicts such events and counsels the Jesus Movement to be honest and truthful in the face of charges against them.
