Confident HopeJesus Teaches about Hope Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Why Do You Worry?Matthew 24:9-14 New International Version9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and all nations will hate you because of me. 10 At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. For ReflectionGiving your life over to God is only the first step in a transformational walk with your creator. Your first choice to follow Jesus unites you to God's will but separates you from those who are driven by corporeal desire. There will be times when your allegiance to God and your passion for following the way of Christ will separate you from your friends, family, and the governance systems under which you live. Sometimes the conflicts will be so severe that you will be persecuted for your stance against those who put materialism ahead of God's will for justice and peace.
When such conflicts occur, the Christian will face a choice. Does he or she cave in the face of the need to suffer for the cross, or will the Christian find the courage to accept God's promise of comfort?
Accepting the yoke of the Lord does not mean your life will be one of constant comfort and ease.
Pray Pray for the courage to face the challenges of your Christian faith. Pray and invite God to guide you in the way of Jesus.
