Confident HopeJesus Teaches about Hope Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Why Do You Worry?Luke 12:22-24 New International Version Do Not Worry
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
For Reflection
Do you believe that God is reliable? Do you believe that God is a competent judge? Do you believe that God first interest is your best interest?
The extent to which you trust God reveals the extent of your faith. Trust is the belief in the reliability, truth, ability, and strength of someone or something. Because we trust, we feel safe and secure. When we don’t, we don’t feel safe and we worry.
When life hits you hard, do you, like Habakkuk, lament and spill your guts to God about doubting God? Do you confess your belief and faith in God and at the same time ask God to help you recover from your doubts?
Pray
Confess you doubts to God in prayer. Affirm your trust in God and plead for God to help your unbelief.
