Let Justice Roll

Celebrating God

Called to Praise God
Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)

Praise God for Justice and Righteousness

Amos 5:21-25
New International Version

21 “I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
your assemblies are a stench to me.
22 Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings,
    I will not accept them.
Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,
I will have no regard for them.
23 Away with the noise of your songs!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24 But let justice roll on like a river,
    righteousness like a never-failing stream!

25 “Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings
forty years in the wilderness, people of Israel?

For Reflection

No amount of praise, sacrifices, offerings, singing, or any other lip service will compensate for our lack of being just and working toward establishing justice. Adhering to ceremonial, symbolic acts does nothing to establish the Kingdom of God in the here and now.

Pray

Pray, praise, offer tributes, sing hymns. But most of all, pray with your hands and feet.
