Seeing Through a Mirror Darkly

Celebrating God

Called to Praise God

For Reflection

In a society where the truth is at best optional, sometimes I think that I am looking at the world through a carnival mirror.  Everything is there but slightly distorted. Up is down! Right is wrong! Am I locked in a dark cell where I can trust no one? Or Is my vision inhibited by a smoky window of dreadful circumstance?

Many psalmists have cried out, dumping their pain in God's lap. I am beginning to understand the need to lament. And I, too, like the psalmist, have cried out to God to intervene. "Why," I ask, "God, Why?"

Perhaps we, as humans, are suffering the consequences of our actions. But, as a person of the Christian faith, maybe I just need to relax. I have had my say. Now I need to say amen and declare that I am in your hands, God, and I trust you.

Pray

Take your suffering to God in prayer. It's ok to complain.  Pray and declare your trust in God to deal with it. Amen
