The Workers are Few

Justice, Law, History Justice for the Marginalized Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)  Matthew 9:27-38 New International Version The Workers Are Few 35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” For Reflection God calls to action. God provides us with the skills and desire to become the divine persons God intends us to be. Jesus has shown us the role God expects us to take, a healer. Not necessarily as an MD or a psychologist, but instead as one who lifts others from their despair or welcomes others to belong. In short, God calls us to be compassionate and helpful. God calls us to be the best human we can become. The need for healing is never-ending. The work is not hard.
