Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)

James 1:13-19 New International Version

13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created,

For Reflection

To hear some people talk, one would think that God is the original born loser. For anything that we consider bad happens, we say, "must be God's will." A natural disaster strikes, and we call those events "acts of God."

Or, if we fall into temptation, we might say, "God is trying to trip me up!" Born loser and Holy Gotcha; Is that what God is?

If we feel dragged into sin, it is not God pulling us. Our giving in to sin is a result of our inability to resist our carnal desires. God has your back. God will help you pick up the pieces of your life and restore you fully into the life God intended for you by God's grace.

Pray

Pray and approach God with a thankful heart. Then, pray and listen to the Holy Spirit guide your restoration.
