Partners in a New Creation The Agent of Creation The Word Resurrects the Dead Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)  John 5:25-29 The Message 25-27 "It's urgent that you get this right: The time has arrived—I mean right now!—when dead men and women will hear the voice of the Son of God and, hearing, will come alive. Just as the Father has life in himself, he has conferred on the Son life in himself. And he has given him the authority, simply because he is the Son of Man, to decide and carry out matters of Judgment. 28-29 "Don't act so surprised at all this. The time is coming when everyone dead and buried will hear his voice. Those who have lived the right way will walk out into a resurrection Life; those who have lived the wrong way, into a resurrection Judgment. For Reflection John visits the question of the words "raised from the dead." It seems that John has decided that both points are valid. One may have a spiritual resurrection in his life, and all will be resurrected at the end of times. It seems silly to me to spend an inordinate amount of time defending which position is most accurate because no one knows what awaits us at the end of times. The voice of Christ is a voice of love, grace, and mercy, of life and liberty, of peace, pardon, righteousness, and salvation. We know what our obligation is; to help others to embrace the saving grace of the Gospel -- to love one another and act as though we do. Pray Pray and live the life God intended for you.
