Come and Enjoy The River of Life
Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5) Revelation 1:3-8 New International Version3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Greetings and Doxology4 John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits[a] before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power forever and ever! Amen. 7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”[b] and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”[c] So shall it be! Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” For Reflection
John calls us to be faithful witnesses to all God has done in Jesus Christ. He does this with his entire life as a public testimony. He takes a stand for the truth of the Gospel and against the falsehood, lies, and evils of the secular world.
We in Christ are on a journey and will encounter challenges, death, and illness. We will be tested with idolatry. At times we will be tempted to settle for mediocrity or compromise. But with faith and trust in God, the Holy Spirit will lead us in more significant numbers to choose love over hate, peace over violence, and truth over falsehood. PrayPray for God to help you be a witness of God's power. Pray so that you will hear the summons of your soul. Pray that God will be our life's first and final voice.
