Beauty and Holy Mark Your Place

God's Exceptional Choice
Out of Slavery - Into Nationhood
Who Is King
Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)

Psalm 93
The Message

93 1-2 God is King, robed and ruling,
God is robed and surging with strength.

And yes, the world is firm, immovable,
    Your throne ever firm—you're Eternal!

3-4 Sea storms are up, God,
Sea storms wild and roaring,
Sea storms with thunderous breakers.

    Stronger than wild sea storms,
    Mightier than sea-storm breakers,
Mighty God rules from High Heaven.

5 What you say goes—it always has.
"Beauty" and "Holy" mark your palace rule,
God, to the very end of time.

For Reflection

The psalmist declares the majesty and strength of God have firmly established the world for eternity. He then reminds us that there is more to God's reign than human issues and concerns. The image in the psalm is intense and frightening. The churning waters were the very definition of chaos. Yet, in a world gone crazy, forgetting to realize that even the chaotic waters obey God.

Therefore, to participate in the kingdom, we are responsible for our part in it. God's decrees are the equivalent of Jesus'’ teachings and his focus on those in need of our help today includes the very creation itself.

Pray

Pray and dispel the hopelessness of mourning yesterday. Pray and be encouraged to do all you can to ensure that the realization of the Kindom of God continues to be possible just as God, the Creator and Sustainer of our world intended. Pray and shout "God is King" and celebrate God and God's great kingdom.
