If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. 6 Yet this you have, you hate the works of the Nicola′itans, which I also hate. 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.' For Reflection As the Ephesians grow in their understanding of their faith, they have displaced loving action with knowledge. Therefore, the Ephesians are to reflect on their earlier works of fervent love, to ponder how far they have fallen from their former devotion and enthusiasm, to humbly "repent" before God, and to do their former works motivated by love. How many churches today stand at this same crossroads? Do we sense the importance to Christ of honoring his name by our true confession and reflecting on His life through our loving relationship with others?
