Jesus, Light of the World

From Darkness to Light
God's Promises
God Promises Light in the Darkness
Live in the light of God (Isaiah 2:5)

For Reflection

Intelligence and learning do not always make people more insightful or wise; knowledge and information can be used to undermine and attack, making people proud, arrogant, or distrustful. Jesus speaks of himself as the truth, confident that he embodies God's presence. Cries of "False witness do not shake him! Fake news!"

Those who rely on their own intelligence and resist advice believe in the security and peace they create. Jesus breaks through such defenses, inviting us not to rely on human constructs but to enter into a relationship with him and our Father.

Those who live in the darkness do not see the light and become as dead to the joy, peace, and hope of living in the light. The path out of death and into life is grounded in God's love for you and that you have for others.

Pray

Pray, study scripture, and observe your experiences. If you are living in the light, that light will be reflected onto others.
